Aylwin holds a Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy) and is certified in Psychological First Aid. He began his journey in higher education as a Teaching and Research Assistant for a computational thinking module targeted at undergraduate students in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, where he developed a passion for supporting students’ growth, confidence, and belief in their own potential. 

He has experience in student well-being outreach, student engagement, and the design of inclusive programmes that foster connection and belonging within the university community. His work has involved collaborating with student leaders and campus partners to support meaningful student experiences and guide students towards pathways of flourishing.

Aylwin believes that beyond the pursuit of happiness, it is through the consistent pursuit of purpose, growth, and self-respect that one finds a life truly worth living. This belief shapes his approach towards supporting students with empathy, authenticity, and encouragement.

Suzannah believes that if you want a village, you have to be a villager. To her, community is built through moments like showing up for one another during both the hard times and the good times.

Suzannah holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Sociology (Hons) from the National University of Singapore and previously graduated with a Diploma in Mass Communication from Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Her background in sociology, communications, and student engagement has shaped her interest in understanding people, building community, and creating meaningful conversations around wellbeing.

Through her own experiences, Suzannah understands how easy it can be to feel disconnected or as though everyone else has life figured out. She has come to deeply value human connection and the joy found in everyday moments. She hopes to encourage students not only to seek support when they need it, but also to become part of one another’s villages. Above all, Suzannah strives to bring warmth and care into conversations and communities she is a part of.

During her time studying Psychology at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Sheila found herself drawn to different perspectives on how people make sense of their experiences, which shaped her interest in mental health. She became especially curious about how people seek help, a question she continues to explore through her research project in her Master’s in Counselling and Guidance at James Cook University (JCU). She often wonders what makes it easier (or harder) for someone to reach out and feel supported.

Alongside this, she has immersed herself in diverse settings, supporting youths at risk, ex-offenders, persons with mental health conditions and persons with special needs. Through these experiences, she has come to realise that everyone carries a story shaped by their circumstances and is doing the best they can with what they have. This realisation also grows her appreciation for the strengths and resilience people carry.

In Singapore Management University (SMU), Sheila hopes to help build a campus community where students feel seen, supported and comfortable seeking help in ways that feel right for them. Through outreach and well-being initiatives, she aims to create spaces that feel human, grounded and meaningful, where honest conversations can happen, and where students can find their own ways of connecting and showing up for one another.
